An Exciting Halloween Festival awaits!
Join us for the third annual BOO BAZAAR!
This year, we're thrilled to be hosting, once again, at Joslyn Castle and Gardens, this Halloween-themed Festival, showcasing over 100 talented local and regional artists and vendors, as well as family friendly activities.
This carefully curated market features a wide array of handmade products, including handbags, art, décor, dolls, crafts, food and bakery items, bath and body products, crystals, jewelry, and a selection of other Halloween or witchy and whimsical items. In addition to our incredible vendor market we will have several Spooky Season activities at this years event
This year we will be leveling up once again.

This year we have expanded our Witchy, weird Halloween theme to include a Tim Burton vibe.
AND LATER IN THE MONTH WE WILL HOST OUR THIRD TIM BURTON TRIBUTE ART SHOW AT JOSLYN CASTLE’S CARRIAGE HOUSE GALLERY.

We are honored to host this year's BOO BAZAAR at Joslyn Castle and Gardens in Omaha.
Joslyn Castle & Gardens (JC&G), historically a 35-room mansion, now serves as a community and cultural center on a lush 5.5-acre urban green space in midtown Omaha, Nebraska. JC&G is also the epicenter of a state-certified Creative District where community, culture, and innovation converge. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places, its grounds are also an affiliate site of the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum. JC&G operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, guided by a volunteer board of directors dedicated to preserving the heritage of George & Sarah Joslyn, through stewarding their historic home and offering diverse cultural programs that educate and inspire the community.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will support JC&G in historic preservation and the continuation of community programming.

New Class! Wire Wrapped & Beaded Fan Earrings
Create an armature with a larger gauge wire. Then wrap this with thinner wire and string beads across the armature. Use round seed beads and Czech pressed glass feather beads to create a lovely pair of earrings.

Knotted Bracelet at The House of DOTŁ'IZHI
Come to The House of Dotł'izhi and learn how to create your very own knotted bracelets! This hands-on event will teach you different techniques to make unique and stylish bracelets that you can show off to your friends. No experience is necessary, just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
Chereal Designs will guide you through the process, providing all the materials you need to make your own masterpiece. Knotting between beads is a fundamental skill, this opportunity will unleash your inner artist and walk away with a beautiful handmade bracelet!

Big Picture Gallery and Studio teams up with Chereal Designs for professional instruction led by Cheryl Weatherford to learn how to make beaded accessories! August's session will begin with the fundamentals of making a wrapped loop for earrings and using a common stringing material, flexwire, to design their own beaded bracelet. The second day, students will wire their own gemstone beads to create a beaded chain bracelet. Finishing the three-day jewelry camp we will learn a Japanese braiding technique, Kumihimo. After camp, students will have the opportunity to take home written instructions for future projects.

Make Your Own Ear Wires at Beadology Iowa

Use commons household objects to make templates for three different styles of ear wires in copper. Then chose one to make one again with Argentium sterling wire. You’ll be able to custom make ear wires to match the materials used in your other handmade jewelry.

June's session will begin with the fundamentals of making a wrapped loop for earrings and using a common stringing material, flexwire, to design their own beaded bracelet. The second day, students will wire their own gemstone pendants using jewelry making tools. Finishing the three-day jewelry camp are beloved beaded creatures! After camp, students will have the opportunity to take home written instructions for future projects.

Jewelry Making Camps will be led by Cheryl Weatherford, owner of Chereal Designs, LLC. Learn to work with a variety of materials, tools and techniques to design and produce earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pendants and key chains. Materials such as varied beads, flexwire, copper wire, gemstones and clay will be used. Students will explore techniques including, knotting and stringing, creating wire cages for gemstones, Japanese round braiding, herringbone and wire design.
Jewelry Making camps will teach different projects each week, so students wishing to participate in both weeks will learn and create new things each day!
******PLEASE NOTE: These camps are open to entering 3rd grade - entering 12th grade.

Tree of Life Jewelry at The House of Dotł'izhi
Hosted at The House of Dotł'izhi on Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City, join Chereal Designs for a wire and beaded Tree of Life class from 6-8pm. Students will be able to choose their own beads to make their own pendant or earrings. Each DIY Jewelry Kit provided by Chereal Designs will include wire, beads and written instructions.

Learn the art of using wire and beads using a French technique to create a variety of flowers and leaves. Put them together for a small bouquet.
Flair with Filigree at Big Picture Gallery and Studio
Learn to create swirls, rosettes and other filigree with wire, adding your own unique flair to your new wire-wrapped pendant using multiple wires.
Kits include a stone or opalite focal, copper wire, written instructions and professional instruction by Cheryl of Chereal Designs.

Join Chereal Designs for a class that's great for an introduction to wire weaving on Thursday Feb 20 from 9-12. The "Grecian Wire Woven Earring" combines copper wire, gemstone beads and wire weaving to complete this beginner's project. We will use jewelry making tools and hammers to complete the look that is great for a pendant or earrings. All kits come with materials and instructions for future projects. Using various thicknesses of wire, create a Celtic knot. This serves as the centerpiece of a wire woven bracelet. A great project to learn how to use jewelry making tools.

Learn the technique of finger weaving with copper wire. Then take your piece and form it into a pendant. Embellish your pendant with Swarovski crystals and lucite flower to make a one-of-a-kind piece.
