August's session will begin with the fundamentals of making a wrapped loop for earrings and using a common stringing material, flexwire, to design their own beaded bracelet. The second day, students will wire their own gemstone beads to create a beaded chain bracelet. Finishing the three-day jewelry camp we will learn a Japanese braiding technique, Kumihimo. After camp, students will have the opportunity to take home written instructions for future projects.

Use varied sizes of wire, beads, and wire working tools, to create a fast and fun whorled, spiral pair of earrings. These look so much more complicated in wearing than they are in the making. No experience needed.
Hosted at The House of Dotł'izhi on Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City, join Chereal Designs for a wire and beaded Tree of Life class from 6-8pm. Students will be able to choose their own beads to make their own pendant or earrings. Each DIY Jewelry Kit provided by Chereal Designs will include wire, beads and written instructions.

Using various thicknesses of wire, create a Celtic knot. This serves as the centerpiece of a wire woven bracelet. A great project to learn how to use jewelry making tools.

Knowing how to knot beads is a helpful skill to knot precious beads to make rosaries or malas and a timeless technique to protect pearls. Learn how to knot in-between beads with Chereal Designs at Big Picture Gallery and Studio on Sunday, November 17th from 2-4pm. Every kit comes with the materials needed to complete a bracelet with beads that you choose on the day of class, including gemstone, pearls and glass.
In this improved version of this design, add freshwater pearls to copper wire. Wrap your wire around a sturdy armature. Learn to create a hook-n-eye clasp that comes organically from the piece.
